CedeSMS product overview

CedeSMS runs across multiple platforms including Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Symbian/UIQ Series 40/60/80/90 devices. Support for iPhone is in development. CedeSMS allows you to send and receive encrypted text messages directly on your mobile device. Encryption and decryption is performed directly on the handset ensuring that whilst your messages are in transit they are completely unreadable until your intended recipient receives the message and decrypts it.

This secures all of your text messages against possible theft or if handsets are lost. Regain peace of mind knowing that all of your text communications can only be read by those intended.

Trusted Contacts

To simplify the use and exchange of multiple passwords, trusted contacts can be set up and authenticated automatically. This enables the use of just one session password for all encrypted SMS text messaging and secures the details of the trusted contacts list from unauthorised access. Trusted Contacts uses public key security to securely exchange session keys between senders and recipients.

Contact Groups

CedeSMS makes it extremely simple to send encrypted text messages to multiple people at once. The contact groups feature allows you to group multiple contacts together in your address book and store them under one group name. You can then send encrypted text messages by simply specifying the group, rather than each individual contact.

Multiple Encryption methods

Two encryption methods are provided for securing SMS messages. One favours speed, whilst the other favours strength giving you control of the way your data is secured.

Package Delivery

CedeSMS is delivered to the mobile device via an over-the-air download directly to the phone via internet/intranet download, or pre-installed from the service provider. CedeSMS can also be pushed to Blackberry devices across your organisation using your existing Blackberry Enterprise server.

CyberCede Encryption

CedeSMS encryption is based on the company’s primary and proprietary CyberCede algorithm (<=80,128 bits). Encryption works from phone to phone across multiple platforms offering end-to-end security. All users continue to receive unencrypted messages as normal. When an encrypted message is received the CedeSMS application is launched and the user prompted for the passphrase. Due to limitations on portable devices and the inability to send non-printable characters etc. the encryption level of CedeSMS is limited to 7,000 - 10,000 bits.

Sending the same message more than once does not produce the same encrypted data - the encryption routine randomises the data each time to make the encrypted data unique.
